Vietnam, China leaders exchange lunar New Year greetings

Party General Secretary of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping on January 25 exchanged the 2022 lunar New Year greetings.

In their messages, the two leaders emphasized that 2021 was an important year for both Parties and countries, when Vietnam successfully organized the 13th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and China celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

Looking forward to 2022, they agreed to maintain regular exchanges to develop the Vietnam - China relations under the motto of good neighbours, good comrades, good friends, and good partners.

They suggested that the ministries, agencies and localities of the two countries seriously implement high-level common perceptions, promote substantive cooperation in economy, trade and investment, as well as people-to-people exchanges in various forms, and closely cooperate in pandemic prevention and control.

They also agreed that both countries will work closely together to well handle disagreements through peaceful negotiations, in accordance with international law, contributing to strengthening the friendly neighborliness, and comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between Vietnam and China.

The two top leader wished the Parties, States and peoples of Vietnam and China would joyfully celebrate the 2022 lunar New Year holiday that falls next week.
