Vietnam, Argentina sign cooperation documents

Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong and President of Argentina Mauricio Macri witnessed the signing of some cooperation documents between Vietnamese and Argentine ministries and agencies following their talks in Hanoi on February 20.

The documents included a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cultural collaboration between Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology of Argentina during the 2019-2020 period; an action plan between the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship; and another MoU between Radio The Voice of Vietnam and Argentina's Federal System of Public Media and Content. 

Earlier, during their talks, the leaders briefed each other on their respective countries’ situations, discussed orientations and measures to deepen the bilateral comprehensive partnership in an effective and pragmatic manner, and exchanged viewpoints on regional and international issues of shared concern. 

Party General Secretary and President Trong affirmed that Vietnam always wishes to consolidate and enhance the comprehensive partnership with Argentina, especially in economy, trade and investment. 

For his part, Mauricio Macri said Argentina is resolved to further deepen the traditional friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, effectively contributing to development in each country. 

In the morning the same day, President Mauricio Macri and his entourage laid wreaths at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs and paid respect to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Hanoi.

President of Argentina Mauricio Macri is paying a State visit to Vietnam from February 19-21 at the invitation of President Nguyen Phu Trong, aiming to deepen the bilateral relationship.
