Vice President meets former soldiers protecting Quang Tri Citadel

On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the liberation of Quang Tri (May 1, 1972), the programme "Sacred Citadel" took place on July 20. Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh attended the event.

Speaking at the programme, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh expressed her strong feeling and joy meeting the former soldiers who had participated in battles to protect the Quang Tri Citadel.

Mrs. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh hoped that the Quang Tri Citadel veterans will continuously contribute for social activities, and serve as a spiritual support for the young generation in promoting the revolutionary tradition. She also handed over VND 30 million to the Quang Tri Citadel Veterans’ Association.

The same day, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh led a delegation to offer wreaths and incense at the Quang Tri Citadel Monument, the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery and the Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery.

In addition, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh visited and presented gifts to revolutionary and policy families in Linh Thuong commune, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province.
