- United Nations to remain as lighthouse for multilateralism: Deputy PM
The exhibition, titled “Vietnam – Member of the United Nations Human Rights Council: Respect and Understanding. Dialogue and Cooperation. All Human Rights for All People” features more than 50 artistic photographs portraying Vietnam’s natural beauty, cultural diversity, and people—from the majestic Ha Long Bay and terraced fields of the northern mountains to the historic streets of Hoi An and the vibrant pace of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the organizers, each photo reflects the harmony between tradition and modernity, as well as the spirit of humanity, tolerance, and respect for diversity—values consistent with the exhibition’s theme.
Many of the works on display focus on Vietnam’s achievements in promoting and protecting human rights, including gender equality, children’s rights, education, healthcare, ethnic minority development, climate change adaptation, and environmental protection. These efforts demonstrate Vietnam’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event drew the participation of representatives from UN agencies, permanent missions, international organizations, members of the diplomatic corps, and the Vietnamese community in New York. It provided an opportunity to strengthen exchanges and enhance understanding of Vietnam’s culture, people, and contributions to the international community.
The exhibition also aims to promote Vietnam’s priorities and initiatives within the United Nations as the country prepares to host the signing ceremony of the UN Convention on Countering the Use of Information and Communications Technologies for Criminal Purposes in Hanoi at the end of October 2025.
In addition to cultural promotion, the exhibition is part of Vietnam’s campaign to seek re-election to the UN Human Rights Council for the 2026–2028 term. Through the event, Vietnam reaffirmed its position as a responsible and proactive member of the international community, committed to dialogue and cooperation in advancing human rights.
Vietnam has pledged to continue contributing to global efforts to promote and protect human rights based on the principles of respect for sovereignty, non-interference, equality, and mutual benefit, toward building a peaceful, just, and prosperous world for all.
