State President Phuc meets Cambodian King Sihamoni

State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who began an official visit to Cambodia on December 21, met with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni in the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh capital.

Both host and guest exchanged views on the traditional friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Earlier the same day, King Norodom Sihamoni hosted a ceremony to warmly welcome President Nguyen Xuan Phuc upon his arrival at Pochentong international airport in Phnom Penh.

President Phuc is in Phnom Penh for a December 21-22 State-level visit to Cambodia at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni.

During his stay, President Phucis scheduled to meet with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, and Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and witness the signing and exchange of cooperation documents between the two countries.

He will also meet with leaders of the Cambodian National Assembly and attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the National Assembly Administration Building - a project funded by Vietnam.

This is the first visit to Cambodia by President Phuc and by the first high-ranking Vietnamese leader in the past two years since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
