State President begins Russia visit

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his entourage arrived at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow on November 29 afternoon (local time), beginning a four-day official visit to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He was welcomed at the airport by a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi, and other officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow.

The visit is of great significance as Vietnam and Russia are celebrating the 71st anniversary of their diplomatic ties, the 20th anniversary of their strategic partnership, and ninth anniversary of their comprehensive strategic partnership this year.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc is scheduled to hold talks with Russian President V. Putin, and meet with Prime Minister Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin, Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Ivanovna Matviyenko, and many other senior Russian officials.

He will also receive business executives of leading companies and attend a Vietnam - Russia business forum.
