"Spring of Music and Friendship" concert to take place in Hanoi

PSNews - Within the framework of the third Vietnam - Japan Piano Festival 2019, a concert named "Spring of Music and Friendship" will be held on March 20 in Hanoi, with the aim of strengthening the relations between the two countries.

The event is co-held by the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association and the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese.

The concert will be directed by Japanese pianist Ayuko Higuchi, who organised several concerts and performances in many cities in Vietnam from 2004 to 2016, such as Hanoi, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh.

It will also feature the participation of artist Shion Ota, one of the most promising artists in Japan; talented young Vietnamese pianists Nguyen Ba Tan and Quach Hoang Nhi.

Audiences participating in the event will have chance to enjoy immortal works of world famous composers such as Franz Liszt, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Frederic Chopin or Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In particular, artists will entertain the audiences with famous contemporary and folk songs of Vietnam, Japan.

The organizing board hopes that, the program will bring audiences a perfect music party while enhancing the mutual understanding of culture and music between people of the two countries, contributing to tightening the friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

Ayuko Higuchi began playing the piano at the age of five. At the age of nine, she played a piano concerto with the Kansai Symphonic Orchestra, creating a sensation as aprodigy. Currently, she is the director of the Japan - Vietnam Piano Festival.

Shion Ota was born in Osaka in 2000. As a student, Shion Ota skipped grades and graduated from the Tokyo College of Music High School with just after two years of studying.  She topped many national and international music awards, and was honored as one of the most promising artists in Japan.

Quach Hoang Nhi and Nguyen Ba Tan were born in 2004. They all became students of the Vietnam National Academy of Music (VNAM) at 9 years old. Quach Hoang Nhi was awarded “The 2014 Outstanding Vietnamese Youth Prize” and the Toyota Scholarships for Young Vietnamese Music Talents (2014, 2016).

In 2016, Tan performed his concerts with the Russian Presidential Orchestra and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra. He also received the Toyota Scholarship for Young Vietnamese Music Talents.
