Deputy Minister Vinh noted with joy the healthy growth of the Vietnam-RoK ties in culture, social affairs, and people-to-people exchange, saying Vietnam is desirous of stepping up cooperation with the RoK and hopes the dialogue would help further deepen the bilateral strategic cooperative partnership.

Suh highlighted the strengthening of strategic cooperative partnership between the two nations across a wide range of fields such as economics, investment, trade, people-to-people exchange, and sports.

The annual defence policy dialogue plays a crucial role in boosting exchanges between the two countries as well as the defence ministries, he said, adding that the event provided a good opportunity for both sides to review their cooperation over the recent past and outline orientations for future cooperation development.

The pair compared notes on global security situation and other issues of shared concern in an effort to enhance mutual understanding and trust.

They also scrutinized the outcomes in such fields as high-level delegation exchange, personnel training, marine security, humanitarian assistance in dealing with post-war aftermaths.

They were unanimous in maintaining and promoting the achievements and increasing collaboration in defence industry and UN peacekeeping activities.

The two sides pledged closer coordination at multilateral forums such as the ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting Plus (ADMM), ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), Asia Economic Forum (AEF), Shangri-La Dialogue, and Seoul dialogue.
