President Tran Dai Quang attends flag-raising ceremony on Fansipan peak

After this ceremony, Vietnam flag will always fly on the top of Fansipan - the roof of Indochina. Along with the flag-raising ceremony, President Tran Dai Quang has also officially inaugurated the flagpole at the top of Fansipan.

The flagpole on Fansipan with the height of 25m, was built at an altitude of 3,141m by bluestone material while carved with famous country’s landmarks such as Ha Long bay and symbols of Northwest, Central Highlands. The flagpole was also located in the tourist area of Fansipan Legend, invested by SUN Group in Sa Pa district, Lao Cai province.

The same day, President Tran Dai Quang and the delegation also visited and handed Tet gifts to the Border Post of the Lao Cai International Border Gate.

At the place, the State President congratulated the achievements made by the armed forces of Lao Cai province in general and officers of the Border Post under the Lao Cai International Border Gate in particular.

“After more than 30 years of innovation, the country has gained great achievements with historical significance at all fields,” president Quang stated and adding, “Today's achievements are the result of the major efforts made by the Party and the people, and the people's armed forces, including the Border Guard Forces.”

The State President then asked the Lao Cai International Border Gate to focus on building a clean and strong unit, qualified to successfully complete all assigned tasks by their commanders.

The officers and soldiers of the Lao Cai International Border Gate were also urged to join hands with local Party committees, authorities and people of all ethnic groups in the province in implementing all political tasks, set by the Resolution of the provincial Party Congress

The Lao Cai International Border Gate should strengthen coordination with other armed forces in the province and with Party committees, local authorities to well handle all issues as quickly as possible, achieving the highest efficiency, contributing to maintaining stability, security and order in the border areas.

On January 13, President Tran Dai Quang also visited and congratulated cadres and staffs, who are on duty at the Lao Cai border-gate economic zone on the occasion of the upcoming Tet.
