President To Lam visits war invalids in Thuan Thanh

On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27th, 1947 – 2024), State President To Lam, leading a central-level delegation, visited and presented gifts to wounded and sick war veterans at the Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center, on the afternoon of July 24th, in Bac Ninh province.

The delegation was joined by several Members of the Party Central Committee, including Chief of the President’s Office Le Khanh Hai, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan, Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Permanent Deputy Head of the Commission for Mass Mobilisation of the Party Central Committee Pham Tat Thang and Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan.

At the program, President To Lam and delegates observed a minute of silence in commemoration of late Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Established in 1965, the Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center is one of the facility treating and nursing the largest number of seriously wounded and sick war invalids.

Currently, the center is taking care of 91 seriously wounded and sick veterans.

At the center, President To Lam expressed his deep gratitude towards the previous revolutionary generation, soldiers, compatriots, martyrs’ families, wounded and sick soldiers and people with meritorious service nationwide who have sacrificed for the country.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the President praised the Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs for their good treatment, health care, and rehabilitation of wounded and sick soldiers over the past time.

The President requested that the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs continue to coordinate effectively with local authorities, organizations and individuals in mobilizing social resources to upgrade war invalid nursing facilities and improve the quality of their treatment and healthcare so as to take better care of wounded and sick soldiers in accordance with the current situation in the country.

On the occasion, President To Lam and delegates presented gifts to the Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center and wounded and sick soldiers  at the center.
