The Vietnamese State leader is being accompanied on the trip by Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, Le Khanh Hai, chairman of the Presidential Office, Deputy Minister of National Defence Vo Minh Luong, and Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quoc Hung. Others on the trip include Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Quoc Tri, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Ta Van Thong.

This marks the first visit of a key Vietnamese leader to Indonesia since the 13th National Party Congress, as well as the first trip made since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, it is also the first state visit made by a Vietnamese President to Indonesia in nine years, amid the two countries gearing up for the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership.

The visit is taking place at a time when co-operation between the two countries is recording plenty of positive developments.

It is expected to contribute to consolidating political trust, deepening multifaceted co-operation, and making bilateral relations more practical and effective.
