Vietnam and Bulgaria need to enhance collaboration across the fields of economy, trade, investment, national defence-security and anti-crime, he said, adding that both countries should offer mutual support at international forums, especially within the framework of the United Nations.

He also took the occasion to thank the Bulgarian government and people for offering assistance to Vietnamese nationals living in the host country.

Dimitrov, for his part, said the visit by then Minister Quang has laid a solid foundation for the development of bilateral ties.

He briefed his host about the outcomes of his talks with Minister Lam and affirmed that the long-standing relationship between Vietnam and Bulgaria provides a basis for them to settle arising challenges.
