Participants at the meeting discussed the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, issues affecting the country, and Vietnamese efforts to prevent and fight plots and activities carried out by hostile and reactionary forces against the Party and State.
Other topics mentioned were solutions to challenges related to food and water source security, as well as to financial and monetary security, both of which were also put on the table.
They hailed the army, public security, the diplomatic sector, and relevant ministries and sectors for actively updating, analysing, assessing, and forecasting the situation relating to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This allowed for prompt proposals to be made and the recommending of appropriate initial viewpoints, policies, and measures to leaders of the Party and State.
The Council also proposed that police and related forces continue upholding their achievements, concertedly deploy personnel and measures to prevent, detect, and effectively fight conspiracy plots aimed at internal “self-evolution” and “self-transformation”, as well as attempts by hostile forces to influence policy.
The meeting heard that along with traditional security issues, non-traditional security threats globally are increasingly and have the potential to seriously affect Vietnam, especially the country's goal of ensuring national security and sustainable development. In this context, relevant forces are required to strictly implement the guidelines and policies of the Party and State, as well as solutions to ensure food, water source, and national energy security.
The forecast for the Vietnamese economy is to continue suffering further impacts due to external factors, which may cause potential risks and challenges to the nation’s financial and monetary security.
The police and related forces have therefore been demanded to study and advise the Party and State on guidelines and policies, as well as concertedly realise tasks and solutions aimed at ensuring financial and monetary security, thereby contributing to the country's socio-economic recovery and development.
