Meeting JICA President Shinichi Kitaoka in Tokyo on June 1 as part of his ongoing State visit to Japan, President Quang suggested that Japan support Vietnam in implementing its industrialization strategy within the Vietnam-Japan cooperation framework, and developing human resources for the industry area.

Vietnam needs Japan’s assistance in building and conducting a project to reform the apparatus of the political system towards effective and efficient operation, and train managerial officials at all levels, especially at strategic level, he said.

The Vietnamese leaders also asked for the agency’s cooperation in projects in industry, green agriculture, high technology, as well as its support in searching for long-term solutions to coping with climate change.

President Quang thanked Japan for providing ODA for Vietnam for its socio-economic development in decades, while lauding the role of JICA in the field.

For his part, Shinichi Kitaoka showed his delight at the strong and practical growth of the Vietnam-Japan relations over the past 45 years.

He spoke highly of Vietnam’s effective coordination in implementing projects over the past years.

He pledged that JICA will continue its efforts to contribute to the growth of the Vietnam-Japan partnership, focusing on enhancing added value in the industry sector and designing climate change response policy and a human resources training plan for Vietnam.
