Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on January 20 called on the media covering the ongoing 14th National Party Congress to focus on reporting the event's major outcomes and new highlights.

During a visit to the press centre amid a break in proceedings, PM Chinh met with reporters and inquired about their working conditions. He described the press as a hardworking and vital force, so that all possible support should be offered to them, including adequate infrastructure, reliable internet connectivity, and a conducive work environment to enable timely, comprehensive, accurate, diverse, and engaging coverage.

He suggested consolidating reporting into a unified document, praising the report delivered by Party General Secretary To Lam at the opening session as concise and sharply focused on core issues, new priorities and urgent actions required.

According to him, the report highlighted a strong action-oriented and practical approach, aligned with current realities, especially the breakthroughs stressed by the Party chief, including strategic vision, breakthrough thinking, and decisive action.

The media was also urged to capture the positive, optimistic mood among officials, Party members, and citizens from all walks of life surrounding this major political event of national significance, while conveying Vietnam’s readiness to follow the Congress resolution immediately after its successful conclusion.

The press centre, situated next to the main hall at the National Convention Centre, features state-of-the-art facilities, including high-speed internet, over 150 laptops and desktops, printers, fax machines and 10 large television screens. It provides optimal conditions for news gathering, reporting and hosting press conferences and interviews related to the event.

Over the past two days, the centre has hosted nearly 600 journalists and technicians from 113 domestic outlets, plus close to 100 journalists and support staff from 43 foreign news agencies, overseas Vietnamese media and representatives of political and governing parties, all focused on covering the event.
