PM Phuc receives RoK City Daegu’s Mayor

Vietnam always welcomes foreign investment and pledges more favorable conditions for them to operate in Vietnam.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the remark at a reception for the visiting Mayor of Daegu city of RoK, Kwon Young Jin in Hanoi on October 12.

The RoK remains Vietnam’s leading partner with the top ranking in investment and 2nd in ODA, Phuc said while calling calling for more practical cooperation between Daegu  and Vietnamese cities, including Ho Chi Minh City and Danang.

Mayor Kwon Young Jin in turn asked the PM to give more assistance to RoK enterprises, adding that he will exert greater efforts to intensify Korean investment in Vietnam. 

He said Daegu will devise more programmes supporting Vietnamese who live in the city like teaching them Korean. 

He also suggested the Vietnamese government offer favourable conditions for Daegu Bank to open a representative office in HCM City in the future.
