PM Phuc’s attendance is made at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and China reached 93.6 billion USD in 2017, up 30 percent year-on-year, and accounting for 22 percent of Vietnam’s total import-export turnover. Of the total, 35.4 billion USD came from Vietnam’s exports.
Vietnam posted a trade deficit of 28 billion USD with China in 2016. The figure was down to 22.7 billion USD last year, a positive sign in improving the bilateral trade balance.
Bilateral trade is forecast to exceed 100 billion USD in 2018.
