PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc experiences first “Made in Vietnam” car

PSNews – The Vietnamese automaker VinFast of Vingroup on June 14 inaugurated its automobile manufacturing plant at the Dinh Vu Industrial Zone in Cat Hai District, Hai Phong Province, after 21 months of construction. The inauguration of the factory has marked its official beginning of its commercial production phase.

The ceremony saw the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Economic Affairs Nguyen Van Binh, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan, as well as other leaders of ministries and Hai Phong City.

The VinFast automobile manufacturing plant, which is the most important project of the VinFast Electric Bike and Automobile Production Complex, started construction in September 2017. The project, which covers an area of over 500,000 square meters, is considered as a world-class modern automobile manufacturing facility.

Its production capacity reaches 250,000 units per year in of the first phase and 500,000 units per year in the second phase.

VinFast is also the first automobile factory in Vietnam to own world-class complete, synchronous and highly automated production lines with 6 workshops continuously connected and automated by thousands of ABB robots.

Especially, VinFast factory has made a record  in the world’s automobile industry while it has completed the whole project, including constructing the workshops, installing machinery systems and production lines and performing trial run, in only 21 months.

We are committed to continuing our efforts to promote the Vietnamese automobile brand in the international market so as not to disappoint you”, said Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, Chairman of Vingroup.

VinFast also set up a new record in the automobile market with 10,000 pre-orders. After the inauguration ceremony, VinFast will hand over the first cars, about 2 months ahead of the plan. Specifically, VinFast Fadil products will be handed over to customers from June 17 while Lux A2.0 and Lux SA2.0 products will be delivered to customers by the end of July.

Immediately after the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has experienced the SUV model of VinFast, drove by Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong.
