Viet Nam and Singapore officially established diplomatic relations in 1973. After raising the relationship to a Strategic Partnership in 2013, the relationship between the two countries has grown in a deeper and more effective manner.

In 2022, Singapore ranked first among 108 nations and territories pouring investment capital into Viet Nam with US$6.46 billion.

Despite negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the bilateral trade value hit US$8.25 billion in 2021 and US$7.01 billion over the first nine months of 2022, up 23 percent and 17 percent, respectively.

Viet Nam and Brunei Darussalam established diplomatic relations in 1992.

Both nations have made new strides in their relationship since the establishment of a comprehensive partnership on the occasion of the State visit to Viet Nam by the Sultan of Brunei in March 2019.

The two-way trade value reached US$310 million in 2021 and US$458 million in the first half of 2022.
