PM Chinh meets with former Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on November 25 received former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga during his ongoing visit to Japan.

PM Chinh expressed his delight at the substantive and comprehensive development of the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership, and appreciated former Japanese PM’s positive contributions to the effective cooperation between the two countries over the years.

Amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, he said the two countries have supported each other in combating the virus, and are gradually restoring exchanges and contact in the new normal.

Chinh suggested that Suga continue to support and promote the two countries' relations to new heights, especially in the fields of supply chain diversification, supporting industry development, innovation, digital transformation, information technology development, among others.

For his part, former PM Suga welcomed Chinh’s Japan visit, which he said would contribute to further promoting the Japan - Vietnam extensive strategic partnership. in all areas.

He shared Japan’s effective COVID-19 prevention and control experience, and said he stay ready to introduce experts in the field to Vietnam.

The former Japanese PM spoke highly of Vietnam’s increasing role regionally and globally, and said he will try his best to further tighten the friendship between the two countries.
