The exhibition is taking place in Kim Duc commune, Viet Tri city along with a ceremony to finish the 2nd phase of the Lai Len Shrine restoration project, and to make public the tourist product of the "City tour Viet Tri", which serve as the opening activities to celebrate the Hung Kings’ Temple Festival 2017.

The second phase of the Lai Len Shrine reconstruction, covering 1.7 hectares, includes a Phu Tho’s Xoan singing art gallery, which occupies an area of 300m2, to hold Xoan singing contests and to promote the Vietnamese folk musical art.

The project, according to the Phu Tho provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, demonstrates the efforts of the Party, government, community and artisans in preserving and promoting the values of the Xoan singing heritage.

In the coming time, the Phu Tho provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hand over the Lai Len Shrine project to Kim Duc commune for management while a relic management board is also required to be formed to create a more favorable condition for the community to hold religious activities and to perform Xoan singing.

Xoan singing, which aims to honor the Hung Kings, the founders of Viet Nam, to pray for good weather and harvests, as well as praise the land and daily life in rural areas attracts both locals and visitors.

Although Xoan singing was usually held in the past at the festival of the Hung Kings' Temple, it was once at risk of dying out because few young people learnt Xoan singing.

As a result, Xoan singing was by UNESCO as part of the world's intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection in 2011.
