Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte paid an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of State President Tran Dai Quang.

In the morning of September 29, President Tran Dai Quang hosted the official welcoming ceremony for visiting Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte  at the Presidential Palace.

Following the ceremony, President Tran Dai Quang and President Rodrigo Duterte held talks at the Presidential Palace. Two leaders discussed the bilateral realations between the two countries and regional issues that concern the two countries.

This was President Duterte’s first visit to Vietnam and the fourth call on a foreign country as the chief the Phillippine government.

In the afternoon, President Rodrigo Duterte will greet on the General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and meet Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
