The performance “Vang Mai Giai Dieu To Quoc” (Rhythm of the Fatherland Resounds Everlastingly) will be organised at the Hanoi Opera House and broadcast live on VTC1 channel.

It will also air at the websites vtc.com.vn and toquoc.vn allowing Vietnamese overseas to watch.

The online newspaper toquoc.vn will host the show following the success of the first one of its kind organised last year.

Various singers including Thai Bao, Quang Tho, Trong Tan and Ho Quynh Huong as well as performers from the Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre, the choir of the Vietnam Academy of Music and the Ba Dinh district Cultural Children’s Centre.

Famous singer Jimmi Nguyen from the US will return to the country to perform at the show as an effort of the organiser to shorten the distance between Vietnamese people at home and overseas, according to Nguyen Thanh Liem, head of the organising board.

“Though Jimmi Nguyen lives far from the country, he is always directed toward the homeland and has composed many songs expressing nostalgia and patriotism,” said Liem.

“That’s the reason why we want him to perform at the show as a representative of Vietnamese overseas who has always stuck with the country.”

This is the second time singer Thai Bao has performed at the show.

She said the show gathers famous artists and presents beautiful songs which have won audience’s hearts for years.

“I feel proud to have a chance to perform on the stage of the show,” said Bao. “I will sing classic songs however, together with musical instrumentalists, I will find new ways to bring new emotions for the audience.”

Bao said that among numerous music shows organised during a year, the performance “Vang Mai Giai Dieu To Quoc” is remarkable. It offers audience a wonderful experience of music, singing and dancing.

Jimmi Nguyen has lived far from the homeland since when he was young but he always remembers and feels proud of his roots.

“The songs I composed express the patriotism and nostalgia of myself and other Vietnamese overseas.”
