Party leader reiterates determination to combat corruption

Vietnam will continue to fight corruption consistently and resolutely, affirmed, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong while meeting with voters in Hanoi’s district of Dong Anh on December 6.

The Party leader said that corruption is a burning issue not only in Vietnam but also other countries.

“Corruption has caused many administrations and regimes to collapse. The Communist Party of Vietnam has issued resolutions to battle ethical degradation, corruption and wastefulness. The war on corruption is tough but it is the war we have to fight”, he said.   

Over the past years, drastic changes have been seen in the prevention, detection and handling of corrupt cases, he said, but noting that corruption and wastefulness still occur complicatedly in many sectors at all levels. 

He underlined the need to seek solutions to strengthen the Party’s leadership over the combat of corruption and wastefulness in the time to come.

The Party pledges to combating corruption and wastefulness using a score of measures, from policies and laws, to public supervision and the media.
