Party chief visits embassy staff, OVs in China

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has hailed the contributions that the Vietnamese Embassy in China has made to foster the Vietnam-China ties over the past years and effective implementation of agreements between the two nations.

At the meeting with the embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese in China on January 14, the Party leader briefed the participants on the outcomes of his meetings with Chinese officials during the current visit to China.

He said that the two sides have discussed numerous issues to promote the bilateral relationship in an open and straightforward manner, and signed 15 cooperation documents in many fields.

The Party chief expressed his hope that overseas Vietnamese people in China will strictly abide by the host country’s law while preserving their national cultural identity and playing the role as a bridge to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China.

Later in the day, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong left for a tour of Zhejiang province.
