Party chief meets delegates from int’l communist parties

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong hosted a reception in Hanoi on October 29 for the heads of international delegations participating in the 18th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP).

The Party chief warmly welcomed representatives of communist and workers' parties, describing them as faithful friends who have always stood with the people of Vietnam throughout all stages of the Vietnamese revolution.

He appreciated topics and discussions at the 18th IMCWP, saying that the meeting contributed to sharing experience, strengthening solidarity and unity as well as promoting coordination in a practical manner among communist and workers' parties in the fight for a common goal, especially on the threshold of the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution in 2017.

Sharing with the delegates about the characteristics, nature and lessons learnt from the reform process towards socialism in Vietnam, General Secretary Trong reaffirmed the CPV's consistent goal of national independence and socialism.

He expressed his thanks to communist and workers' parties for their strong support for the CPV and the people of Vietnam.

The international delegates expressed their admiration for the struggle for national liberation of the Vietnamese people, the late President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

They spoke highly of the achievements of the national reform towards socialism under the leadership of the CPV over the past 30 years, considering it as a great source of encouragement for the communist and international workers movement at present.

The international delegates also expressed their thanks to the CPV for successfully hosting the 18th IMCWP as well as affirmed their strong support for the revolutionary cause of the people of Vietnam under the leadership of the CPV.
