Party Central Committee asks to implement resolution productively

The closing session of the 7th plenary meeting of the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) was held on May 12 after the six days of sitting under the chair by Politburo member and President Tran Dai Quang.

Politburo member Pham Minh Chinh, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee (CPVCC) and Chairman of the CPVCC’s Organisation Commission, presented the Politburo’s report on acquiring and explaining opinions of the CPVCC on the project “building a contingent of cadres at all levels, especially strategic level, with sufficient virtue, capacity and prestige on par with their assigned tasks”. 

Participants also heard the Politburo’s reports on acquiring and explaining opinions of the CPVCC on the projects on salary reform for officials, public servants, the armed forces and labourers working in enterprises; and social insurance policy reform. 

After examining and discussing the reports, proposals and projects of the Politburo, the CPVCC decided to adopt major contents of Resolutions on building a contingent of cadres at all levels, especially strategic level, with sufficient virtue, capacity and prestige on par with their assigned tasks; salary reform for officials, public servants, the armed forces and labourers working in enterprises; and social insurance policy reform.

The Politburo was assigned to complete, issue and organise the implementation of the resolutions. 

According to working regulations of the CPVCC, the Politburo, and the Secretariat of the 12th tenure, the CPVCC considered, discussed and highly agreed the report reviewing the leadership and guidance of the Politburo and the Secretariat in 2017.

They also reported  the important works made by the Politburo since the 6th plenary session of the 12th CPVCC; inspection, supervision and discipline in the Party; as well as the implementation of tasks of the PCC’s Inspection Commission and inspection committees at all levels in 2017. 

The CPVCC’s agreed, through voting, to let Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member, permanent member of the Secretariat and Chairman of the CPVCC Inspection Commission, of the 12th tenure, to leave the posts of member and chairman of the CPVCC Inspection Commission of the 12th tenure. 

The CPVCC elected Tran Cam Tu, CPVCC member and Standing Vice Chairman of the CPVCC Inspection Commission, the 12th tenure, as Chairman of the CPVCC Inspection Commission, the 12th tenure.  Meanwhile, Hoang Van Tra, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee and head of the National Assembly deputies, the 14th tenure, of Phu Yen province was elected to the CPVCC Inspection Commission, the 12th tenure.

The CPVCC elected two additional members of the 12th tenure Secretariat, including Tran Thanh Man, CPVCC member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; and Tran Cam Tu, CPVCC member and Chairman of the CPVCC Inspection Commission, the 12th tenure.

The CPVCC considered and agreed to expel Dinh La Thang, CPVCC member and deputy head of the CPVCC Economics Commission, from the Party.

The CPVCC called on the whole Party, the entire people and army to strengthen solidarity and promote the achieved results, while striving to overcome all difficulties and challenges, towards firmly defending the independence and territorial sovereignty, ensuring national security, and successfully implementing the objectives and tasks set for the 2018-2019 period and subsequent years and the resolution adopted at the seventh meeting of the 12th CPVCC.
