Opportunities for overseas Vietnamese youth to visit Truong Sa archipelago

The authors of top prize-winning entries in the writing contest "Overseas Vietnamese youth and students with the task of protecting sovereignty over Vietnam’s sea and islands" will have the opportunity to visit Truong Sa archipelago.

This writing contest is held from July to December 2016. It is open to Vietnamese individuals and collectives, aged 16 to 35, living, studying or working abroad.

Entries sent to the contest must have significance in communicating and educating the revolutionary tradition, patriotism and national pride for Vietnamese youth and students.

Nguyen Phi Long, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation Central Committee, shared that this would be the platform to connect Vietnamese youth and students abroad and create conditions for them to study the country, thereby, they would make contributions to build the nation and suggestions on the maritime economy, helping the homeland’s economy integrate with the world economy.

The contest offers one first, two second, three third and five consolation prizes. The organizing board will receive entries until October 31st, 2016.

Entries can be sent to the Office of the Vietnam Youth Federation Central Committee at No. 64 Ba Trieu street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi or email

The contest is co-organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Youth Federation Central Committee, in order to promote information and communications of the task of protecting sovereignty over the sea and islands and territorial integrity of the country; strengthening revolutionary tradition education, patriotism, national pride for overseas Vietnamese youth and students; encouraging ideas, innovations, solutions and practical contributions of overseas Vietnamese youth and students to the task of protecting the sovereignty over the sea, islands of the country; and raising their awareness and responsibility for the construction and protection of the nation in the new situation
