No compromise on aviation safety and security

To start his working visit to Noi Bai airport, the Deputy PM made a tour to all operational sections of the airport. He then had a working session with officials and workers of Noi Bai airport on aviation safety and security; prevention and fight against smuggling and trade fraud at the airport.

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh appreciated the strong development of the civil aviation sector of Vietnam in recent years. He revealed that the legal documents related to civil aviation are now being perfected.

The Deputy PM stressed, the aviation security and safety systems and Vietnamese international airports’ emergency system have now completed, meeting the international standards. As a result, the Vietnamese civil aviation sector has not had any serious accidents over the last 18 years, he added.

Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh also praised all the achievements by the airport authorities in collaboration with relevant agencies in preventing and fighting smugglings, commercial frauds and counterfeit goods. The law enforcement forces at airports have discovered many smugglings and seized a large number of illegal items shipped by air.

The Deputy PM also pointed out the risks and limitations of the aviation industry in recent years. He said the aviation market is growing strongly while the airport infrastructure cannot satisfy the increased need of the market.

Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh then urged the airports to step up efforts to tackle airport congestions, cyber attacks and laser beam incidents to ensure aviation security.

The airports were also asked to invest in more advanced security scanning systems and to hold training courses for its staff.
