Navy Brigade 146 receives National Protection Order

PSNews - Brigade 146, Naval Region 4 of the Vietnam People's Navy on May 8 held a ceremony to celebrate its 40th anniversary of establishment (May 8, 1978) and receive the third-class National Protection Order.

40 years ago, on May 8th 1978, the Minister of Defense issued Decision No.391/QD-QP, establishing Regiment 146 under the Naval High Command, which it is now Brigade 146 under the Naval Region 4 Command, to protect Vietnam's sovereignty over the seas and islands.

Over the past 40 years, generations of officers and soldiers of 146 Brigade have united to overcome many difficulties, successfully fulfilled their assigned tasks of safeguarding the 21 islands and 33 stationary points of Truong Sa Island District (Spratly Islands).

The unit has enhanced its general strength, built a professional, elite and modern force to meet requirements of their missions of firmly protecting national sovereignty over the Vietnamese islands in the current situation.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of establishment, Brigade 146 was honored and awarded the third-class National Protection Order by the State President.
