The virtual conference was organised under the chair of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. It also saw the attendance of Politburo members, including President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Vo Van Thuong.

Implementing the Resolution adopted at the 13th National Party Congress, the fourth plenum of the Party Central Committee agreed to issue a conclusion on stepping up the building and rectification of the Party and the political system.

The conclusion emphasised the resolve to prevent and drive back degradation in ideology, morality and lifestyle, and the phenomena of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” within the Party, and strictly handle officials and Party members who commit violations.

A new regulation on things that Party members are not allowed to do has also been issued.

To well implement the conclusion and regulation, the Politburo has rolled out an implementation plan.

The conference is set to disseminate major contents of the fourth plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee and the implementation plan, in order to create high consensus in both awareness and action in the entire Party.
