NA Standing Committee convenes 6th session

The Standing Committee of the 14th National Assembly opened its 6th session in Hanoi on January 9.

National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said the session will consider and approve the NA Standing Committee Resolution which regulates procedures of  supervisory activities.

The Committee will give opinions on contentious issues in several draft laws, including the draft laws on foreign trade management, on support for small and medium-sized enterprises and on planning. 

The NA Standing Committee will also comment on a list of projects and capital allocated to each project included in the mid-term public investment plan for 2016-2020. It will scrutinise a draft resolution of the Committee on the punishment of retired officials and civil servants, the top legislator added.

“The draft resolution of the NA Standing Committee on discipline for retired cadres State employees has not been submitted by the Government so the verification agency can’t examine it," said Secretary General of the NA Nguyen Hanh Phuc.
