NA Chairwoman pays tribute to Cuba revolutionary leader

National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan led a delegation from the Vietnamese Party and State to lay a wreath in tribute to Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro at the Jose Marti Memorial in Havana right upon her arrival in Cuba on November 28 (local time).

Writing on the funeral guestbook, the top Vietnamese legislator expressed the deeply sorrow of the Vietnamese Party, State and people at the passing away of Fidel Castro, the prominent leader of the Cuban revolution, the great friend and faithful and close comrade and brother of Vietnam.

She affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State and people never forget his great contributions to establishing and continuously developing the special brotherhood, comprehensive cooperation and mutual trust between the two Parties, States and peoples over the past more than half a century.

She also reiterated Vietnam’s consistent support for the Cuban people’s just revolutionary cause as well as its determination to continue strengthening and deepening the special bilateral relationship.

NA Chairwoman Ngan praised Fidel Castro’s enormous contributions to world communist and workers’ movements over the past over five decades, stressing that his name, career and humanitarian revolutionary thought will live forever in the revolutionary cause of Cuba and Cuba as well as in the hearts of peace and justice loving progressive nations around the world.

The same day, the NA leader visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba and met with representatives of the Vietnamese community here.
