MoFA first publishes diplomatic BlueBook

Hanoi - On 22nd September, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the ceremony to launch the “Vietnam’s diplomatic BlueBook 2015”.

This is the first time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a book launch for the BlueBook, aiming to give an introduction of Vietnam’s foreign policy and diplomatic achievements in the year 2015.

Speaking at the ceremony, H.E. Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Foreign Minister said: “This book not only reviews Vietnam’s diplomatic activities in 2015, but also looks back into the past five-year journey and highlights the new features in our foreign policy, set out by the 12th Party Congress”.

The book consists of six chapters, providing an overview of the international and regional situation; the foreign policy of the Vietnamese Party and State; notable developments in bilateral relations in 2015 as well as the past five years, multilateral diplomatic activities; diplomacy for the national development and defence, the Party, National Assembly as well as people’s external relations and the main features of the foreign policy adopted at the 12th Party Congress…

The book also analyzes 7 new features in the foreign policy of the 12th Party Congress: the theme of the Congress; the goal of “safeguarding the ultimate national interests”; relations with major powers and partners important to the national development and security; major guidelines for international intergration, underscoring the role of multilateral diplomacy; the major guidelines for national defence; the new approach to people’s external affairs; the major guidelines for foreign relations in defense and security.
