The Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment had a working session on issues regarding natural resources and environment, on the afternoon of August 3, in Hanoi.

The Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment had a working session on issues regarding natural resources and environment, on the afternoon of August 3, in Hanoi.

Politburo member and Minister of Public Security General To Lam and Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh co-chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security Major General Dang Hong Duc delivered a report on proposals of the Ministry of Public Security to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, focusing on issues related to measures to overcome difficulties in mining land and sand to level construction sites as well as issues regarding the planning and use of security land, issuance of land ownership certificates; and issues on environmental protection.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc noted a number of contents the two ministries need to enhance coordination in support of the investigation of wrongdoings in using natural resources and protecting environment.

At the meeting, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh thanked the Ministry of Public Security and Minister To Lam personally for the effective support and coordination for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

He also underlined the need to develop a coordination mechanism to more effectively deal with tasks related to the two ministries.

Concluding the meeting, Minister To Lam highly appreciated the results of the meeting as well as the close cooperation between the two ministries in the past time.

Emphasizing the need to build and maintain a more effective coordination mechanism, Minister To Lam affirmed that relevant units of the two ministries are being implemented a number of contents of coordination effectively.

Affirming the particularly important role of natural resources and environment in ensuring public order, national security and national defense, and promoting socio-economic development, Minister To Lam suggested strengthening coordination between the two sectors.
