Minister To Lam said that, in the context of complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the governments of Vietnam and Cambodia have supported each other in preventing and controlling the spread of the COVID-19 virus as well as in ensuring political security, social order and safety in each country.

The mutual support has demonstrated that the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia has further been consolidated in difficult times.

The minister emphasized the importance of the ambassadorship in Cambodia, suggesting that Mr. Nguyen Huy Tang should work closely with the MPS of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia, and advise the Party and State of Vietnam to further strengthen the relationship between the two ministries in particular and between the two countries in general with the principle “Good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive, long-term sustainable cooperation ".

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the two countries should continue their coordination to control the spread of disease, while the police forces of the two countries should enhance border control and fight against crime along the shared borderline, contributing to maintaining security and social order in each country.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Tang thanked Minister To Lam for the warm reception, and emphasized that he would try his best to deepen the fine relations and expand cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
