Minister To Lam attends Hung Yen Provincial Patriotic Emulation Congress

The Northern delta province of Hung Yen on November 24 held the 9th Patriotic Emulation Congress and received the certificate recognizing the province as a new-style rural locality.

The event saw the presence of General To Lam, Politburo Member and Minister of Public Security, Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong and other extinguished guests, local Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and over 200 delegates.

The congress reviewed the province’s emulation and commendation work during the 2015-2020 period, rolled out orientations for the patriotic emulation movement in the province the next 5 years. At the meeting, outstanding individuals and collectives in the patriotic emulation movement were also honored.

In the past 5 years, the Provincial People’s Committee of Hung Yen presented Emulation Flags to over 300 collectives, Certificates of Merit to over 2,600 teams and 4,000 individuals, recognized 40 people as “Provincial-level Outstanding Emulators” and many other awards.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phong urged all local agencies and units to encourage outstanding exemplars, avoid prejudice and corruption in implementing emulation and commendation work.
