Many practical activities held during children’s action month

PSNews – In response to the Action Month for Children 2021 themed “Joining hands to ensure children’s rights and protect children in natural disasters and pandemic”, ministries and branches in Vietnam have carried out various activities for children from the grassroots level.

In particular, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Vice Chairman of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) Dao Ngoc Dung, recently said that NFVC will provide children aged 0-16 who are quarantined in concentration centers with free meals worth VND 80,000 per day per child during their quarantine period. The policy is applied from April 27 to December 31.

Meanwhile, Director of NFVC Hoang Van Tien said that, the Fund has offered free milk to over 1,000 children affected by COVID-19 in the provinces of Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Duong and Hanoi City. Besides, the NFVC also handed 1 billion VND to Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Dien Bien provinces in support of 1,000 local children.

Mr. Hoang Van Tien added that, in order to encourage the COVID-19 frontline workers, the NFVC also called on donors to offer gifts to children whose parents joined the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces. 

In the Action Month for Children 2021, the Central Council of Young Pioneers in collaboration with kind donors visited and presented gifts to children who are quarantined in concentration centers, needy children whose parents are unemployed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and children whose parents are frontline health workers and members of  armed forces in the COVID-19 hotspots of Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Hanoi.

Meanwhile, according to Mr. Dang Hoa Nam, Director of the Department of Child Affairs under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), the Department requested the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of all 63 provinces and cities to promote dissemination of knowledge and skills to prevent and combat child abuse and child accident and injury, as well as how to protect children in cyberspace on mass media, social networks and telecommunications networks.

In addition, many online educational programs are also implemented to provide a healthy, useful and attractive environment for children during the “new normal” situation due to COVID-19, with its highlight of the painting contest "Color Festival" held for children from 6-15 years old.
