Lorry driver was deserved to a Heroic Cross by saving passengers in a bus

PSN (Đà Lạt City)-On Wednesday morning, Vietnam President Trần Đại Quang’s authorization, Mr. Đoàn Văn Việt, President of People' committee of Lâm Đồng Province deserved a Heroic Cross for driver Phan Văn Bắc, 30 age, living in 6th Village, Đạ Oai commune, Đạ Huoai district, Lâm Đông province.

Mr. Phan Văn Bắc, driver controlled a lorry (the registered number 49c-098.51) of a transport company, saved dozens of  passengers from a bus was losing its control.

On  Sept 6 Afternoon, Mr. Bắc was driving his lorry carrying agricultural goods to Hồ Chí Minh City from Đà Lạt, found a bus carrying 30 peoples (the registered number 53N-2824) controlling by Mr. Phan Duy Toàn, 40 age, living in Cần Đước, Long An province, was broken brake underneath Bảo Lộc Pass.

Mr. Bắc was  instantly tactful and calmly to use his experience in helping to protect from bus losing control a rid of a deadly accident.

When the bus was broken its brake, running with deadly speed (over 80 km/hr) to underneath Bảo Lộc pass, Mr.Toàn could not be mastered it. After seeing problems, driver Bắc managed to lead the bus to run 450m and safely stop.

Fortunately, no passenger was hurt. Mr.Toàn was not seriously wounded and took to Lâm Đồng’s General Hospital No 2 in Bảo Lộc City  by locals to treatment and check-out  after several days.

Speaking at the memory, Mr. Bắc said thrilled that, he was very honored in receiving The Heroic Cross from President Trần Đại Quang.

“I would remember this special moment forever. I promise to turn the big happiness today into a motivation to improve a driver’s ethic professional”, he said.
