Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam, an NA deputy of Ho Chi Minh City, speaks at a discussion of the fifth session of the 14th parliament

In the morning, Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate Le Minh Khai, on behalf of the Prime Minister, presents a report on revisions to the draft amended Anti-Corruption Law. A verification report on this bill will be later delivered by Chairwoman of the NA’s Committee on Judicial Affairs Le Thi Nga.

The draft amended Anti-Corruption Law is said to have absorbed opinions raised by deputies at the NA’s fourth session in late 2017. Many regulations have been revised to ensure the bill is more feasible and matches the reality and the current legal system.

Some debatable issues that still need further discussion include the cases that need asset and income verification, agencies controlling asset and income, and the settlement of the actual asset and income that are bigger than the declared.

Also on May 31, Chairman of the NA’s Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children Phan Thanh Binh will present a report on revisions to a draft law amending some articles in the Law on Physical Training and Sports. Later, legislators will have a plenary discussion on this draft.

In the afternoon, deputies will work in groups to scrutinise the draft amended Anti-Corruption Law.
