Leading enterprises to accompany Japanese PM in visit to Vietnam

PSNews - 25 Japanese enterprises will accompany Prime Minister (PM) Shinzo Abe in his official visit to Vietnam from January 16-17.

According to the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, those are leading Japanese infrastructure and general trade businesses.

Apart from joining Vietnamese businesses during the talks between the two countries’ PMs held on January 17, the Japanese enterprises will meet leaders of more than 30 Vietnamese provinces. A signing ceremony of agreements related to climate change and infrastructure investment of businesses is also supposed to take place.

The visit of PM Shinzo Abe and his spouse to Vietnam marks a milestone of 4 years since the Japanese leader’s first foreign trip to Vietnam in his current tenure as Japanese PM.

PM Shinzo Abe, who laid the foundation for the establishment of the Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership, was the very first leader in the G7 countries to invite the Vietnamese PM to the expanded G7 Summit.

Japan is currently a leading ODA (official development assistance), investment and trade partner of Vietnam, accounting for 30% of the total ODA for Vietnam.
