Lao PM asks for Vietnam’s support in e-government building

Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith has asked Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the Lao Ministry of Post and Telecommunications to work closely together in information security and building e-government in Laos

At a meeting on September 19 with Minister Truong Minh Tuan, who is on a visit to Laos from 18-21, Lao PM Thongloun Sisoulith suggested that the ministry and the Vietnamese Government continue supporting Laos in effectively exploiting the LAOSAT satellite system. 

On his part, Tuan briefed his host on the outcomes of his talks with leaders of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of Laos, as well as the results of cooperation between the two ministries over the past years.

He affirmed that the two ministries will coordinate closely in information and communications to tap the potential of both sides in the field in the new period. 

This showed the determination of the two sides in reinforcing and expanding cooperation, thus contributing to fostering special friendship between the two Parties, Government and peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

The minister expressed hope that the Lao PM and Government will continue backing and creating favourable conditions for the two ministries in implementing programmes and projects supporting the building of management policies and enhancing governing capacity of Laos in the field of information and communications. 

He also asked for the Lao PM’s support in the two countries’ partnership in press and publishing
