Important economic plans presented to Party Central Committee

The 12th Party Central Committee listened to several important schemes on economic issues during the first working day of its fifth plenary meeting on May 5.

Following the opening speech of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the committee approved the agenda of the plenum.

Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee Nguyen Van Binh, who is also head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, presented the Political Bureau’s proposals on the scheme on completing institutions of the socialist-oriented market economy.

The meeting also heard the Politburo’s proposals on a project on the rearrangement, reform and efficiency improvement of State-owned enterprises, and another reviewing the 15-year implementation of the ninth Party Central Committee’s Resolution on the development of the private economic sector.

In the afternoon, the committee worked in groups to discuss the project on completing institutions of the socialist-oriented market economy.
