Hanoi to excavates nearly 1000m2 of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long

PSNews - The excavation drive will take place from April 15th to December 30th on the area of 982m2.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has permitted the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center in collaboration with the Institute of Archeology to dig up the floor of the former Operation Department in the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long.

During the excavation, the entrepreneurs are requested to protect the layer of the relic site and popularize information to people about the protection of the local cultural heritage. They are not also allowed to announce the results of excavation before reaching the agreement of the management agency and Department of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Meanwhile, the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center is responsible for preserving all objects collected during excavation and report the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on methods

to protect and promote those exhibits.
