Mrs. Hoang Thanh Le, mother of a 10th grade student at Phan Huy Chu High School, Dong Da District said, “According to the school’s announcement, the school closes from February 3-9. Yet, students still study through the school’s learning applications.”

In particular, teachers will provide students with assignments through online applications, and assess the students’ self-study and home-learning study results. Teachers will also use Facetime or Skype to talk directly to students in some cases.

According to Mr. Ha Xuan Nham, Principal of the Phan Huy Chu High School, the school has an Office 365 system and a website with different learning topics that facilitate students’ online study.

Each student has an account and they can proactively arrange time for their study at home. With the aid of online study applications, students can learn the main contents of their curriculum, but interactions between teachers and students are limited.

An effective online learning method is run by Secondary and High School Nguyen Tat Thanh, Newton School and Wellspring School.

At Ban Mai Secondary and High School, teachers give personalized self-study assignments to students through online applications based on different students’ levels.

The school also organizes two livestream learning classes for all students during the week.

The students will then submit their assignments to their teaches through the online applications.

Meanwhile, the Le Quy Don Secondary and High School takes advantage of the school’s email system, smart phones and social networks to help students self-study at home.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Binh, the school’s principal said that the teacher gives homework to the students very day and collect the assignments from students by the end of the day.

Earlier, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced on February 2 that nursery to vocational training schools would remain shut from February 3-10.

On the same day, the HCM City Department of Education and Training decided to shut down local schools for a week, starting from February 3 to 9.
