Hanoi and Ninh Binh to host 4 conferences of APEC 2017

PSNews- On the afternoon of April 5, the seventh plenary session of the APEC National Committee 2017 took place under the chair of Deputy Prime Minister, APEC National Committee Chairman 2017 Pham Binh Minh.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh asked all members of the APEC National Committee 2017 to assess the work of the first quarter and report the preparations for the APEC 2017 activities, particularly activities related to the Summit Week in Da Nang in November.

The SOM 1 conference held in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa in March was a success in terms of organization and theme, which was highly appreciated by APEC members. This was demonstrated by the strong support and  high consensus of the member countries on the theme of "Creating New Motivation, Working Together for the Future" and four major APEC cooperation priorities in 2017, namely: Promoting sustainable, creative and inclusive growth; Promoting deep regional economic links; Improving the competitiveness and creativity of micro, small and medium enterprises in the digital age and strengthening food security and sustainable agriculture, adapting to climate change.

In the second quarter, the APEC 2017 activities will focus on the Ministerial Conference on Trade (Hanoi, 19-21 May, 2017), the High Level Policy Dialogue on Human Resource Development (11 – 15 May, 2017), High-level Conference on Sustainable Tourism (Ha Long, 18 – 19 June, 2017), Senior Finance Officials Conference (Ninh Binh, 18-19 May, 2017) and the earliest - SOM 2 and relevant meetings (Hanoi, 9 - 18 May, 2017) are important in orienting the results of APEC cooperation in 2017.
