Government leader arrives in Beijing for second Belt and Road Forum

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc arrived at the Beijing Capital International Airport of China on the morning of April 25 for the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF), which transpires from April 25-27.

PM Phuc receives a warm welcome at the airport 

Prominent guests welcoming the Vietnamese government leader at the airport were Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo, leaders of China’s Foreign Ministry and Vietnamese Ambassador to China Dang Minh Khoi. 

PM is scheduled to have talks with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, pay a courtesy call to General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President Xi Jinping, and meet member of the CPC Politburo Standing Committee and Secretary of the CPC Central Committee’s Secretariat Wang Huning.

The Vietnamese cabinet leader is set to attend the BRF’s opening and the welcoming ceremony for heads of delegations, and three discussion sessions.

The major focus of the first session is on enhancing connectivity to seek new growth motivations, the second on the strengthening of policy resonance and building of closer partnerships, and the third on promoting green and sustainable growth for the implementation of the UN Agenda 2030.

The PM will have a number of bilateral meetings with leaders of attending countries, and meet Chinese businesses in infrastructure, energy, technology and finance.

On April 25, he is due will visit the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing and meet the Vietnamese community in China.
