Foreign leaders congratulate Vietnam on National Day

Leaders of foreign countries from around the world sent congratulations to Vietnam's Party, State, Government and National Assembly leaders on the 72nd anniversary of the country's National Day (September 2).

They included leaders of China, Laos, Cambodia, Russia, Cuba, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, and the Japanese Emperor.

Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping sent congratulations to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Tran Dai Quang. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhang Dejiang shared joy with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, respectively. 

In their messages, Chinese leaders said China attaches importance to developing ties with Vietnam and is ready to lift bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a greater height. 

Meanwhile, Lao Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith, Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and National Assembly Chairwoman Pany Yathotou highlighted Vietnam’s achievements over the past years while expressing their thanks to the Vietnamese Party, State and people for the valuable and timely support from Vietnam in the past as well as national safeguarding and building at present.

The Standing Committee of the Cambodian People's Party Central Committee, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen, National Assembly President Samdech Heng Samrin and Acting President of the Senate Nay Penna stated confidently that under the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam will reap greater successes in realizing the Resolution adopted by the 12th National Party Congress. 

President of Cuba Raul Castro Ruz, who is also First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, President of the Council of State and President of the Council of Ministers, reaffirmed his determination to continue diversifying friendship and historic ties with Vietnam.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin believed that the continued strengthening of bilateral ties in diverse areas and effective joint work to deal with necessary global issues will meet interests of the Vietnamese and Russian peoples for peace and stability in Asia-Pacific. 

Vietnam received other congratulation messages from the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Singapore President and Prime Minister, and Thai Prime Minister. In their messages, they committed to working closely with Vietnam to further enhance bilateral partnership across the board. 

Japanese Emperor Akihito also sent a congratulatory message to President Tran Dai Quang on the National Day.

On the occasion, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Lao Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith, Cambodian Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman, Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai also conveyed congratulatory messages to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.
