Egyptian President’s visit opens up new period of development

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has said the first visit to Vietnam by an Egyptian President will usher in a new period of friendship development.

At a reception for visiting Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Hanoi on September 6, the Party chief thanked the Egyptian people for supporting the Vietnamese struggle for national liberation and praised Egypt’s role in the Middle East and North Africa. 

Praising the results of talks and agreements signed during President Sisi’s visit, the Party leader called on both countries to promote cooperative mechanisms, delegation exchanges, and mutual support at multilateral forums. He wished the Egyptians prosperity and happiness.

President Sisi, in turn informed the Party leader of his talks with President Tran Dai Quang, reiterating his resolve to boost cooperation with Vietnam in all fields. He said his nation wants to learn from Vietnam’s development experience and wished Vietnam prosperity in the time ahead.
