Drug traffickers arrested in Tay Ninh, 21kg drugs seized

PSNews-On May 2, the Border Guard force of Tay Ninh caught 3 men carrying 21 kg of synthetic drugs from Cambodia to Vietnam.

Results of a preliminary investigation revealed that, at 5:30 pm on April 30, the task force squad of the Moc Bai International Border Guard Station detected Pham Van Thuan (24,  resident of Vinh Niem ward, Le Chan district, Hai Phong) and Nguyen Tung Anh (17, resident of Hiep Hoa commune, Kinh Mon district, Hai Duong) trafficking 13,031 pills of synthetic drugs (weighed about 4kg) from Cambodia to Vietnam.

Both arrested said they were hired by a Cambodian man to transport the amount of drugs from Bavet, Svay Rieng province, Cambodia to Huu Nghi crossroad near the Moc Bai Border Gate (Vietnam) and paid VND 10 million each.

The Border Guard Command of Tay Ninh Province then directed the Moc Bai International Border Guard Station and the Drug and Crime Prevention Division (the Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard) in coordination with police of the Cambodian city of Bavet to check room 002, Thien An Hotel (Bavet city, Cambodia) and seized 50 additional bags of synthetic drugs, weighing about 17kg.

At 9 am of May 1, the Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard and the police of Bavet arrested Nguyen Manh Tien (19, resident of Dong Trieu, Quang Ninh). Tien is in the drug line with Anh and Thuan.

The Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command, Vietnam and the Svay Rieng Provincial Police, Cambodia are expanding investigation into the case.
